This includes transit buses as well as school buses as cargo buses and shuttles. EV Star is a highly customizable, zero-emission vehicle that's fully FTA certified, Altoona tested and Buy America compliant. It offers class-leading range, ADA wheelchair provisions, and cargo delivery systems. EV Star GreenPower Motor Company manufactures a complete line of medium- and heavy-duty all-electric vehicles, including lower-floor and high-floor models. The EV Star Cab & Chassis is their flagship model, and it can be customized to meet a variety of applications. The design of the platform is based on a simple sheet of paper, which allows for optimal positioning of the battery pack and a lower center-of-gravity. This results in higher range/payload ratios. The EV Star REEFERX was designed for mid-to-last mile refrigerated deliveries as well as catering applications. The refrigerated trucks in class 4 with a single wall structure inside and higher insulation than traditional trucks, enable seamless sanitation and better temperature control. They also have a longer service life. The EV Star REEFERX provides superior capacity for cargo and an industry-leading payload to reach the range of zero-emission transport of passengers or goods. GreenPower joined forces with Perrone Robotics in order to equip the EV Star with TONY (To navigate you) autonomous vehicle systems that will enable fleets to easily make the transition to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star can also be wirelessly charging up to 75 kW. We had the opportunity to test drive the EV9 for several hours on a local freeway and found it to be a breeze to drive and comfortable for long distances. The EV9 can be used to block road noise and wind while on the highway. It rides smoothly over ruts and humps. The acceleration is extremely quick, and the car comes with adjustable regenerative braking that allows “one pedal driving” by lifting off of the accelerator. The EV9 has a wide range and can be charged within three hours or less at home, or using any commercial charger. greenpower mobility scooter can choose between two modes of operation: eco mode and sports mode. Eco mode prioritizes the torque, cruise control and handling, while sport mode increases speed. Both are fun to drive and provide a unique driving experience for anyone who has never been in an electric vehicle before. GreenPower offers a variety of other electric vehicles which include a multi-purpose electric minibus dubbed the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA compliant and can be utilized as an executive shuttle, transit or micro-transit vanpool, bus, or paratransit vehicle. GreenPower is already producing around 10 EV Star buses per month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority, which is attempting to replace their fleet of older diesel vehicles with 100 all-electric vehicles. With the Biden Administration aiming to electrify school buses nationwide, GreenPower plans on ramping up production to meet demand. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS-certified, Buy America compliant, and ADA compliant. This means they'll be eligible for federal assistance in transit.
